Yep, I plan to use one for books, fortunately you can get ebooks _other_ ways.

I completely agree with Aaron, region locks are unacceptable these days. Same for DRM.

I doubt it too. I can't wait until physical publishers are gone. Then we might actually see a coherent worldwide distribution system. It won't happen of couse (I still prefer reading a physical book myself) but I'm hoping that the growth of digital distribution will force physical publishers to change their methods.

When a digital product comes out overseas it's frustrating that I have to wait for weeks, months and sometimes years to finally be able to purchase it.

Apparently the iPad will be launched officially in NZ in July. It will be interesting to see if the book store launches at the same time, that is the feature I am most interesting in trying.

Apple is rolling out the book store on a country-by-country basis, presumably negotiating the rights takes a long time - some countries are getting it at the same time as the release, others take longer. Considering Apple still hasn't opened the TV Episode section of iTunes in NZ, I have my doubts about the book store being ready.

Congrats, Aaron! The photos turned out really great, fantastic job! I could be fooled into thinking they got a professional architecture photographer to do the job ;)
But the house itself is a bit too modern for my liking - just a little bit too sparse and minimalistic.

Hi Guy. I probably can't help too much as video wasn't something I even looked into. If that's important then something other than the 50D could be what you need. There is also the 7D that came out but I know next to nothing about that. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Cheers
